The future of playmaker Philippe Coutinho is set to be decided in January, his recent criticisms of the team and relentless rumours of a move to Barcelona just won’t go away.
Coutinho Up for Grabs in Winter Market for Barca
Over the long course of summer, Coutinho’s purchase was been attempted several times and the Reds rejected every bid including offers from Barcelona which could have been a Premier League selling record.
However, this time, claims have been made that Liverpool will sell star man Coutinho in the winter market. This is after Klopp and Coutinho settled into a compromise agreement allowing him to move to Spain in mid-season.
Even though Barcelona were rejected several times in the summer despite interesting offers for the Brazil International, they never lost interest and hope.
However, the deal is only said to be applicable if Barcelona has a reasonable offer in store of course. But there is no specific amount for which a reasonable offer ranges. The only obvious and important thing is that Coutinho is allowed to leave Liverpool as soon as the winter transfer windows open. But Barca will have to dig deep like they did in the summer.
Although the Reds manager Jurgen Klopp has not issued official prerogatives regarding the ruling out of Coutinho’s sale nor denied agreement for the eventual transfer of the Reds and Barcelona, speculations are being made because Barca’s sporting director was seen at Wembley watching Coutinho in the game against Spurs.
Don’t forget that previous reports stated that Liverpool owners Fenway Sports Group would be amenable to negotiations of sale if the team were out of the Premier League title race. By January, it looks like we will be given the form of Manchester’s United and City.
Coutinho and His Dream Move Coming True
Finally able to reach an agreement with Liverpool to be allowed to transfer to Barca has set the desire of Philippe Coutinho high.
Transferring to Camp Nou remained a dream move amidst Liverpool’s refusal to negotiate repeated bids with Barca.
He was always on the edge of wanting to move with Barca and reluctantly made this publicly known. There was even a point where he became reluctant with training.
If Coutinho will find its way to Barca come January, then fans at the Nou Camp will have an excellent competitive squad.
However, the transfer would be another blow for Liverpool as they will have a tough time finding an apt replacement for Philippe Coutinho.
